Distributing redeemable benefits

Issuing redeemable benefits to an audience in bulk.

A benefit grant issues redeemable benefit instances to an audience: every membership in that audience gets the chosen benefit, according to the configured parameters. Grants allow you to automatically distribute benefits - whether to all members, a specific membership type, etc.

How to use grants

  1. Choose the redeemable benefit to grant.

  2. Choose the trigger:

    • Annually: will award the selected benefit every year, starting from the grant creation date

    • First sync with PassPlay: will award the selected benefit the first time PassPlay syncs the membership

    • Membership renewal: will award the selected benefit any time a membership expiration date change is detected

  3. Choose the audience:

    • All memberships.

    • Selected membership type (e.g. all Family members).

    • Selected membership level (a tier within a type).

    • Selected memberships: search and pick by hand.

  4. Specify parameters: quantity, expiration date, existing policy, and any internal notes to include on benefits.

  5. Save. Once enabled the grant will run automatically to award benefits to the target audience.

Note: The same process (minus the trigger) can also be used to immediately grant benefits in bulk from the Redeemables view (Sidebar → Benefits → Redeemable). In those cases, because the audience evaluation and instance creation can sometimes take a minute, the distribution job will take place asynchronously. The Redeemables list will display a progress indicator at the top until the job completes.

Limits and caveats

  • Once instances are created they’re independent of the grant: editing or deleting the grant doesn’t retroactively change issued instances.
