Creating a campaign

Walk-through of the campaign create form, from picking a type to composing the message.

Step 1: Pick the campaign type

The Campaign type dropdown shows every channel/format your organization has enabled. The default depends on your features:

  • If your org has email templates enabled, Email is selected.

  • Otherwise if push is enabled, Push is selected.

  • Otherwise the default is Invitation.

Depending on the selected campaign type, the available fields will differ. See Messaging overview for what each type does.

Step 2: Choose the audience

The Audience type dropdown determines who gets the message. See Campaign recipients for the full list and what each one targets. The default is Selected memberships, where you search for and pick individual recipients.

Step 3: Compose the message

Depending on the campaign type, you’ll be asked for some combination of:

  • Title: the message subject (email) or push-notification title.

  • Body: the message text. Email campaigns get a rich-text body; push campaigns are plain text.

  • Image: an optional image attached to the message.

  • Call-to-action / Link: where the recipient is redirected when they tap the message.

  • Reward / Quantity: pick which reward in your catalog this campaign provides.

  • Points: pick which reward in your catalog this campaign provides.

For Invitation campaigns specifically, the message content comes from the selected template and your organization’s invite email settings (configured under Branding and appearance).

Step 4: Schedule

Set when the campaign should go out. Options:

  • Schedule for a specific date and time.

  • Daily recurrence: for invitation campaigns targeting New memberships, you can opt into a daily auto-send so every new membership receives an invite the next day automatically.

Step 5: Save

Saving a draft creates the campaign in Draft status - you can still come back and edit it later. Saving with a Ready to send status moves it to a scheduled state. Campaigns may continue to be edited until the scheduled date and time. After it actually sends, it transitions to Sent and becomes read-only.

Duplicating a campaign

To start a new campaign from an existing one, click the Duplicate button on its row in the campaign list, or on its Summary page. The campaign creation form opens with the settings of the duplicated campaign. You can change the settings or the schedule before you save.
