Loyalty links

How to make a link that gives points or a reward to a membership.

A loyalty link is a sharable link that grants points or a reward item to a membership. A member opens the link (part of the portal), optionally verifies their membership, and the membership gets the points or the reward.

A super admin needs to enable the Loyalty and LoyaltyLinks feature flags for your organization in order for you to use loyalty links.

Link grant items

Type

What the member gets

Points amount

An arbitrary number of points that you set on the link

Points source

The points of a points source

Reward item

One reward item, without redeeming points

Points source and reward item restrictions

Points sources and reward items can have their own restrictions. Use the Enforce points source restrictions or Enforce reward item restrictions toggle to define whether or not the loyalty link is subject to these restrictions. Location restrictions do not apply to loyalty links due to browser limitations.

When the toggle is on, these restrictions apply:

Link gives

Restrictions that apply

Points source

Availability dates, availability hours, days of the week, and frequency

Reward item

Dates, total quantity, quantity per membership, and membership levels

The restrictions of the points source or reward item do not replace the limits of the link. A claim must pass the restrictions of the link and the restrictions of the source or item. For example, a link set to “No limit” for a points source set to “Once per day” gives points only once per day. A link set to “Once” for the same points source gives points only one time.

Who can use a link

Audience

Meaning

Anyone with the link

Any membership that has the link

One membership only

Only the membership on the link

Caution: Any loyalty link set to “Anyone with the link” is fully open. Any membership that has the link can use it.

For a “One membership only” link you can still turn on Require membership verification. The member must then give the membership ID and the validation field of the organization (email, phone number, or last name) before the claim is accepted.

Autofill fields

You can add the membership ID and the validation value to the end of a link, which will fill the fields for the member automatically.

Query value

Field

i

Membership ID

v

Limit the total claims

How often one membership can claim

Once, once per day, once per week, once per month, or no limit. These limits work the same as the frequency of a points source, in the time zone of the organization.

Enabled

Turn off to stop the link. The link stays in the list.

The status of a link

The list shows the status of each link.

Status

Meaning

Active

Scheduled

The start date is in the future
